Back 2 Basics is a beautiful, eco-friendly resort set deep in the heart of the Shawnee Hills on forty-two acres in rural Makanda, IL. Back 2 Basics is only minutes from Blue Sky Vineyards on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Vertical Heartland Climbing School and Panther's Den Wilderness.

Back 2 Basics consists of three A-Frame style cabins, each sleeping up to four adults comfortably. Cabins feature one private, ground floor bedroom with queen bed, a loft with a queen bed, a fully equipped kitchen and one private bathroom. The living room has a pull-out sofa sleeper and a dining table seating four. A portable fire pit is available for outdoor cooking.

The Flanders Lodge is also available at Back 2 Basics, offering two guest rooms, each featuring a queen-size bed and a spacious private bathroom. Maximum capacity is two adults per room. All rooms share the use of the public areas with the owners and other guests. Back 2 Basics does not provide breakfast at this time, but guests can use their self-service kitchen.

The incredible view from Back 2 Basics is so breath-taking and you'll want to spend all of your of time outdoors--so don't forget a camera and recreational equipment, including fishing poles. On-site fishing available at two ponds on the property.
